You know you're in Texas when not just a few girls show up to a fancy event in dresses and cowboy boots (& look really hot in the process!)

Gawd, I miss my friends.

(I was out last week for Lacey + Jay's wedding. It was lovely. I ate a LOT of Mexican food.)

Amish Country

We took a weekend jaunt to Pennsylvania to visit our friend Leanne a few weekends ago. We stayed in her family's beautiful house in the country, ate food made by Mennonites, went apple picking and of course imbibed in a few tasty beers in Philly with the boys.


Such a great way to take in the fall weather—thanks for an awesome time Lee's!

36 hours

gloriously spent with the most difficult decisions being whether I wanted to swim before the next meal, after, or both.


The only "to do" list involved drinking cocktails, clearing the table from amazing meals and changing out of a wet swimsuit. Our friends generously shared a weekend visiting parents in a perfect cabin on Lake Champlain.

Dos, Due, Deux

Two years ago I started this little ol' blog. I had no idea what my life would be like in 2 weeks from that time much less 2 years. crazy. I'm in that same spot today... it's hard for me to picture where I'll be 2 years from today. Bring it on!

Times

Just started going through some of the photos and I'm overwhelmed about where I should start. Here are a few random selections from our adventures. I am back in Brooklyn whether I want to be or not. J is somewhere on the Olympic Peninsula with our friend Taylor—they're on a bike tour and J will fly home from Portland in about 9 days or so.

I'm out.

We are leaving for Portland in the morning. We'll be there for a few days then to Seattle for a lovely wedding in tree houses. Then maybe Vancouver, San Juan Islands, Mt. Hood, Cascade National Park... only time will tell. I'll have a pack on my back and boots on my feet. I won't be back until the end of July or somewhere there-abouts. I don't have a return ticket. Besides the fact that my apartment is a wreck right now and I have 100 things to do as I write this I'm starting to feel more free.

I'm going to sit by the water all day, read, draw, write some, laugh and dance with some of my favorite people. And maybe come back to Brooklyn someday. Did I mention that I'm not taking my computer? Liberating.

Justin & Cara's Wedding Invites

Finally able to post this wedding set that I made for Justin & Cara. They got married this weekend under a tree in Belize—they send me a photograph of the tree so I could make the silohouette on the front of the invites... so perfect, sweet and romantic!
Everything on the inside was hand lettered—just incase you're a type-nerd like me and need to know these things.


If you've been following the news you know that hurricane Alex paid a visit to Justin & Cara's wedding on Saturday (pretty sure he didn't RSVP!) We haven't heard from the newly weds or any of our friends that made it out there yet but if we know them it was an amazing time anyway!

Congrats you two & if anyone reading this has heard from them please let us know that everyone's okay!

Memorial Day in Massachusetts

We had a lovely and relaxing time in Massachusetts with friends. (O, how the Atlantic coast speaks to my soul!) Such a nice time that I almost forgot that I'm knee deep in a portfolio site redesign, the job search and to make things slightly more exciting... moving. again. Don't worry it's only about 9 blocks away. Wish me luck!

Happy Easter!

J and I officially became urban gardeners this weekend with the purchase of 5 gallon buckets, dirt and some seeds/plants. All thanks to our amazing roof.

Belated Christmas...

I put these little e-vites together in a rush back in December for a last minute holiday party J & I had at our apartment. Just thought I would share before the holiday thing got to stale.

We still have our tree up. I couldn't bring myself to take it down before J got back to NYC and it's been such a busy week that it just hasn't happened yet.

We're going to New Paltz in the morning to do a little hiking with some friends (like last year!) I can't wait—it's giving me the motivation to make it through this looong week!

Kendra's Bridal Shower

I got to play hostess just before Christmas at my sister's bridal shower. Of course my main duty was to take care of the invites while the other hostesses did a great job with the food & decorations!


I screen printed (with my yudu, of course!) the doily/snowflake pattern onto grey stock and ran that through my printer for the black text.

I also made some simple recipe cards that people filled out and brought to the shower to help Kendra & Stephen start a good collection of recipes from their loved ones.

Now... to get cracking on those wedding invites!
